The request for private street frontage for this home resulted in the creation of an intriguing, obscured entry within a striking stone-clad feature wall.
The clients required a home where they could regularly host meals for their extended family. Emblematic of the family’s cultural focus on sharing food and stories, the dinner table became central to the design.
An important component in the brief was that the house be designed to accommodate the clients’ substantial Aboriginal art collection. Lighting was a critical and complex consideration, with the importance of natural light consistently balanced against the elements required for the protection and conservation of each artwork.
